Sturgis – HD Museum – Route 66 – July to September 2013
Image touring for 42 days with a group of fellow Kiwi riders through the United States of America to experience the absolute best of the west. We will travel up the Sierra Nevada mountain range, through Lassen Volcanic National Park, Crate Lake, Yellowstone National Park, Traverse the Rockies via the legendary Beartooth Pass and then onto Sturgis (the world’s largest week long bike rally in Sth Dakota) for three nights. From Sturgis we will continue east through to Milwaukee to the H-D Museum and then to Chicago where we hook up with Route 66. Following Route 66 we head back west to Texas where we divert into the Canyonlands to explore Bryce. Zion and Grand Canyons. Scenery that will blow your mind! From Canyonlands we head back to Route 66, Monument Valley Oatman, up to Las Vegas and then to Death Valley on our way back to San Francisco.
Spectacular scenary, fantastic roads (we will use the Interstate highways only when we have to), great company, and the realization of a dream. 42 days, 18 States, 10 National Parks.
Pricing from NZ$15,000 per couple or NZ$12,600 per single. Includes return bike shiupping (including shipping insurance), return air fares from Auckland to San Francisco, all accommodation (except Sturgis), and experienced guides. Bike rental is an option, add approx NZ$5,000 to above prices.
